Second WFP plane flies to Mekelle from Bole International Airport

Addis Ababa, July 22, 2021 (FBC) – The second humanitarian plane of the WFP is about to fly to Mekelle taking off from Bole International Airport.

Since the Ethiopian Government’s declaration of the unilateral humanitarian ceasefire, today’s flight has become the second initiative from the international partners to reach the region.

More than thirty individuals and humanitarian personnel are on board, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The first WFP humanitarian aircraft landed at Mekelle Alula Abanega Airport on July 17, 2021 after the announcement of the unilateral ceasefire.
