Second round of Ethiopia, Somalia negotiations conclude in Ankara

Addis Ababa, August 13, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Somalia today concluded the two-day bilateral discussions brokered by Türkiye in Ankara, Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie said in a post published on social media platform X.

Facilitated by the Republic of Türkiye, the second round of discussions was kicked off on August 12 and concluded today in the Turkish capital.

Foreign Minister Taye extended his gratitude to his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan for visiting Ethiopia ahead of the talks.

“I am confident that Ethiopia’s legitimate interests to secure dependable access to and from the sea will be fulfilled peacefully in cooperation with our neighbors,” he added.
