Samaritan Purse sends 30 tons of relief to Tigray region
Addis Ababa, February 15, 2021 (FBC) – Samaritans DC-8 Aircraft has landed at Mekele Alula Aba Nega Airport loaded with 30 tons of relief amounting 30 Million US Dollars in support of humanitarian efforts in Tigray region.
Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) of Samaritan Purse has announced readiness to distribute enough ready-to-eat food to nourish 18,000 children for a month.
An additional group of disaster response specialists are already on the ground in Tigray, workin in coordination with the World Food Programme, to meet people’s urgent needs, it is indicated.
Samaritan’s Purse has also extended support of food parcels to 1,000 families for a month. The food parcels include rice, wheat flour, beans, oil, and salt.
Families will also be provided with hygiene kits, solar lights, and cooking equipment.
