Russian carmakers GAZ Group, Lada keen on investing in Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone

Addis Ababa, April 5, 2023 (FBC) – The renowned Russian car manufacturing companies, Lada and GAZ Group, expressed their desire to invest in the Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone.

Representatives from Lada and GAZ Group discussed with Shiferw Solomon, Deputy CEO of Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC).

The representatives were briefed on the favorable investment conditions in Ethiopian industrial parks, the incentives for the sector and the overall status of the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone.

The delegates also toured Bole Lemi and Kilinto Industrial Parks and observed the activities and production process of the industries inside the parks.

The representatives expressed keen interest to manufacture various models of products and supply them to the Ethiopian market by engaging in the Dire-Dawa Free Trade Zone.

Both Lada and GAZ Group are renowned for providing different models of vehicles intended for health institutions, security agencies, cargo services, and private and public transport sectors to European, South American and African markets.
