Russia reiterates continued support to Ethiopia’s territorial integrity
Addis Ababa, February 3, 2023 (FBC) – The Russian Federation has reaffirmed its long-standing support and stance to stand by Ethiopia’s territorial integrity.
Earlier today, Speaker of the FDRE House of Federation, Agegnehu Teshager, met in his office with Nikolay Novichkov, the Head of Russia-Africa Cooperation and Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
In the discussion, Nikolay Novichkov reaffirmed that Russia, as ever, will stand by Ethiopia’s territorial integrity, adding that its position will not change.
Besides, he said that Russia is closely monitoring the political, economic and social activities in Ethiopia.
The diplomat commended Ethiopia for peacefully ending the conflict in the north under the aegis of African Union Commission, further praising the resolution as a paragon for many countries.
On the other hand, Agegnehu Teshager, Speaker of the FDRE House of Federation, for his part, said that Ethiopia has realized the maxim of “African Solutions to African Problems” as a path to solve the recent conflict in the north.
Furthermore, he called on Russian investors to engage widely in the economic activities of Ethiopia as large-scale works are being carried out in all areas to create favourable environment for investors from Russia and other countries.
The HoF statement on social media indicates that the speaker has been invited to participate in the upcoming Russia-Africa conference.
