Rural Dev’t Safety Net Program commended for backing Ethiopia’s efforts to ensure food security

Addis Ababa, June 5, 2024 (FBC) – A forum on the implementation of the second round of the fifth Rural Development Safety Net Program of the Ethiopian fiscal year 2016 is being conducted in the presence of federal and regional leaders and representatives of donor organizations as well.

The state minister for Agriculture, Fikeru Regassa (PhD), said that the Rural Development Safety Net Program is contributing its part in Ethiopia’s efforts to ensure the food security.

According to the State Minister, the forum aims to evaluate the implementation of the nine-month plan of the program and identify gaps and explore solutions to the challenges.

The representative of the EU in Ethiopia, Beatrice Neri, said that the fifth development safety net program has registred remarkable results despite various challenges.
