Residents of Kombolcha stage rally in support of PM Abiy, reform initiative

Addis Ababa, February 16, 2021 (FBC) –Residents of Kombolcha town in South Wollo zone, Amhara regional state, have held a rally in support of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his government.

Several residents flocked to the Kombolcha stadium early this morning to show their support to the Prime Minister and all leadership of the reform initiative.

The demonstrators were heard chanting “we support PM Abiy Ahmed and the vision of the reform initiative to improve the livelihood of our people!”, “We stand against forces who endeavours to derail the reform!”

They further said “we denounce internal and external forces who try to hamper the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD)!”, “we will do our parts for the sustainability of the ongoing reforms!” , “Our reform journey will continue to strengthen under the leadership of the Prime Minister!”

Similar rallies were also staged in Desies, Kemissie and Bati towns of Amhara regional state.
