Republic of Korea reiterates commitment to elevate bilateral ties with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, March 17, 2024 (FBC) – Republic of Korea is determined to further strengthen its relations with Ethiopia and take it to new heights, Ambassador Jung said.
In an exclusive interview with ENA, Republic of Korea Ambassador to Ethiopia Jung Kang noted that the two countries have strong and longstanding relation.
The relationship between Ethiopia and Republic of Korea goes back to the 1950s, when Ethiopian soldiers fought bravely alongside the Koreans, the ambassador recalled.
That was a strong foundation for the friendship and cooperation of the countries, he added.
The countries have deepened their relations in various spheres, including trade, investment, development cooperation, and cultural exchange during the past years.
Ambassador Jung told ENA that his country is committed to further strengthening the relationship and elevate the partnership to a higher level.
“Korea and Ethiopia have shared long relations of friendship and cooperation. As Korean Ambassador to Ethiopia, I will do my best to elevate our relations in different areas such as economic and development cooperation as well as cooperation in the international arena.”
Middle East, Asia and Pacific Countries Affairs Director-General, Gebeyehu Ganga said Ethiopia and Republic of Korea have strong people-to-people tie beyond diplomatic relations.
He pointed out that the relationship of the two countries has been growing and are working together in trade and investment as well as technology.
