Renovated National Palace Museum opens to public 

Addis Ababa, December 29, 2024 (FMC) – The restoration of the National Palace is a significant step in preserving our history and cultural legacy, the Office of the Prime Minister said.

The restoration efforts initiated by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, beginning with the Grand National Palace—now Unity Park—have continued with the revitalization of this iconic landmark.

The National Palace now stands as a testament to our nation’s journey, embodying the resilience, artistry, and vision of our people. By restoring it to its former glory, we honor our past and create a lasting symbol of pride and inspiration for future generations.

The Palace Museum has now become a site for everyone, the Office announced.
