Religious fathers extend withes for Peaceful, blessed Ethiopian New Year

Addis Ababa, September 10, 2020 (FBC) – Religious Fathers have extended wishes for peaceful and blessed Ethiopian New year.

Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Abune Matias, extending the New Year message, called up of fellow Ethiopians to stand in unison one another for maintenance of Peace and harmony in the country.

President of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Grand Mufti Haji Omer Idris urged all Ethiopians to keep God’s will by doing righteous deeds.

Cardinal of the Ethiopian Catholic Church, Abune Birhaneyesus Surafel also urged Ethiopians to show love and compassion among one another and serve the nation with enthusiasm accordingly.

The Cardinal requested the government to maintain peace and stability in the country.

Secretary General of Council of the Ethiopian Evangelical Churches, Fr. Dereje Jember said the last year has witnessed both good and bad which the people can learn from and extend mutual support and kindness up on the New Year.

He called for peaceful dialogue to address differences rather than using arms as a solution to address disagreements.

All the religious fathers asked Ethiopians to continue support for successful completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and other Mega projects in the country.
