Reach Ethiopia provides medical equipment worth 25mln birr to war affected health institutions

Addis Ababa January 17, 2023 (FBC) – Reach Ethiopia jointly with the American International Development Organization (USAID) has provided medical and office equipment worth 25 million birr to war affected health institutions in Amhara and Afar regions.

During the handover ceremony, Amhara Health Bureau representative, Dr. Elsabet Deme, said that due to damages caused by the war on health facilities in 12 zones of the region, more than 10.5 million people are without health services.

Similarly, Hussain Mohammad Afar health Bureau representative said on his part that the war caused more than 4 billion birr worth damage on the health facilities in the region.

He said that the support provided by Reach Ethiopia will be of great help to the work of Heath institutions in the region.

Reach Ethiopia manager Meseret Asefa said that the donation will be distributed to 80 health facilities in the two regions.
