Qatar keen to working with Ethiopia in military capacity building
Addis Ababa, December 11, 2023 (FBC) – Qatar’s military attaché at the country’s embassy in Addis Ababa has disclosed that the Gulf nation is interested in working in cooperation with Ethiopia in the fields of military capacity building, infrastructure and technology.
A delegation of senior military officers led by Brigadier General Muhammad Ali, Qatar’s military attaché in Ethiopia, visited the Defense Command and Staff College.
Brigadier General Mulugeta Ambachew, Commander of the Defense Command and Staff College, briefed the delegation about the establishment of the college, the general education process and the contribution it is making to the peace of the Horn of Africa region by training senior military leaders from those countries in the region.
He also explained that the college is working with the goal of being the preferred and competitive center of excellence in expertise and technology in Africa by 2030.
The college is desirous to working in cooperation with the Qatar Defense Institute to achieve the multifaceted activities that have been started.
Brigadier General Muhammad Ali, on his part, said that they are interested in working together in infrastructure construction, technology and many other areas of military capacity building cooperation to intensify the existing bilateral relations to a higher level of cooperation.
