Public servants most valuable resource: President

Addis Ababa, June 24, 2020 (FBC) -President Sahle-Work Zewde spoke at the virtual UN Public Service Day event.
During her remarks she emphasized the duties and responsibilities that come with public service.

The President stated that public servants transcend political division, and contribute to ensuring the continuity of states and that they are expected to abide to the core values of integrity and honesty.

She added that “Public servants are our most valuable resource, and they should be treated as such.”

The President concluded by sharing her own experience stating “I have been a civil servant for all of my working life, and I can assure you nothing is more rewarding.”
