Public rallies calling for lasting peace held in various zones of Oromia region

Addis Ababa, December 22, 2024 (FMC) – Public demonstrations were held today in the South West Shewa, East Wellega, East Shewa, West Guji, East Borena, Qellem Wellega and Arsi zones of Oromia regional state.

The participants of the rallies called for the continuation of the efforts that have been initiated for the establishment of lasting peace in the region and in Ethiopia at large.

The demonstrators marched carrying banners with messages such as, “The path of peace is always victorious,” “Thank you for accepting the call for peace and for following this path,” among others.

Various sections of society, including elders, religious leaders, Abba Gadaas and Hadha Sinqees participated in the public rallies.
