Public-Private Partnership crucial for dev’t of manufacturing sector – Minister
Addis Ababa, May 29, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of Industry Mr. Melaku Alebel stated that the A public–private partnership (PPP) arrangement is crucial for the development of the manufacturing sector in the country.
The Minister made this comments during his remarks at a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) consultative meeting regarding the backlogs in the manufacturing industries.
Melaku noted on the occasion that collaborative efforts of stakeholder institutions can address challenges through public-private partnership arrangement.
He stated that today’s PPP consultation will help to create trust between the private sector and the government, build a strong economy and improve production and productivity.
Furthermore, by creating a concerted system, the sector will play its expected role in the country’s economy, he said.
Mr. Melaku added that the Ethiopian government is working to overcome the limitations in the sector and emphasized that the participation of the private sector in addressing bottlenecks is crucial for the effectiveness of the manufacturing sector.
