Prosperity Party calls on Ethiopians to stand united in COVID19 battle
Addis Ababa, April 10, 2020 (FBC) – The Executive Committee of Prosperity Party has called on all Ethiopians to join hands to beat coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic.
In a statement issued today, the Committee said coronavirus is an enemy which came to grab the dreams that we had as a nation.
All Ethiopians, therefore, from the defence forces to the frontline healthcare workers and artists, need to stand united to beat the pandemic and make history, it said.
Prosperity Party has confidence in Ethiopians that they will beat the virus at all cost to build a united and prosperous nation as well as to turn the country into an east Africa investment hub.
In the statement, the Party also highlighted the gains made from the reform initiatives launched in the past couple of years.
The integrated and board activities undertaken to address the political, economic and security challenges have brought about tangible results.
The measures taken against armed groups operating in various parts of the country have significantly reduced the threats they posed to the security of the people.
The country’s economy has begun to revive and its diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries and the rest of the world have also strengthened, the statement added.
The diplomatic efforts made to end conflicts in South Sudan, bring peace during Sudan’s transitional period, and to resolve the dispute between Kenya and Somalia have built Ethiopia’s image.
