Prosperity Party and Communist Party of Cuba explore ways to enhance partnership
Addis Ababa, January 31, 2025 (FMC) – Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party and Head of the Democratic System Building Center, welcomed Yudí Mercedes Rodríguez Hernández, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC), at the party’s headquarters in Addis Ababa for discussions on enhancing inter-party cooperation.
The meeting focused on reinforcing the longstanding ties between Ethiopia and Cuba. Adem Farah highlighted the historical connections between the two nations and underscored Ethiopia’s current achievements in economic and social sectors under the leadership of the Prosperity Party.
He noted that Ethiopia ranks among the five fastest-growing economies in Africa, with an impressive average growth rate of 8.1% last year and a target of 8.4% for the current year. Adem emphasized the party’s commitment to prosperity through targeted efforts in five key sectors, particularly in agricultural advancements such as wheat production.
Adem expressed optimism about increasing collaboration between the two parties to yield greater benefits in health, science, and technology, ultimately enhancing the mutual interests of both nations.
Yudí Mercedes Hernández conveyed her appreciation for the invitation to attend the opening of the Prosperity Party’s Second Congress. The discussions also covered opportunities for strengthening relations in areas like investment and diplomacy.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing interparty relations, which they believe will further solidify the shared history between their peoples and accelerate their developmental initiatives.
