Princess Benedikte of Denmark pledges to support Ethiopia’s strides on women, children

Addis Ababa, January 13, 2025 (FMC) — Benedikte Astrid Ingeborg Ingrid, Princess of Denmark, pledged to support efforts to support women and children in Ethiopia.

HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark expressed her commitment during her meeting with Minister of Women and Social Affairs Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD) at the latter’s office today.

On the occasion, Ms. Ergogie Tesfaye stated that the effective bilateral relations that Ethiopia and Denmark have built so far should be increased to a higher level.

She mentioned that her ministry is working to increase the support and care for children, making quality education accessible to all, the education of teenage girls, women’s economic benefits and women’s political participation.

For her part, Princess Benedikte said that Denmark is ready to work with the Ministry in various domains.

She asserted that her country’s government will support projects started in the field of child support and care as well as women’s capacity building in Ethiopia.
