Prime Minister Abiy holds discussion with Sec. Antony Blinken
Addis Ababa, December 14, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, held productive and candid discussion with the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on Tuesday afternoon.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Abiy appreciated USA’s contribution to Ethiopia’s efforts to achief lasting peace.
He also recalled that Ethiopia has been a key ally of the United States of America in Africa in for decades.
In his post on Twitter, PM Abiy confirmed that he and the Secretary of State also advised on ways of strengthening the partnership of the two countries.
Sec. Antony Blinken, for his part, confirmed on Twitter that he and PM Abiy discussed on “the measurable progress made so far on implementation of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement and the positive impact full implementation by all parties of the Pretoria and Nairobi agreements will have on Ethiopia’s recovery.”
It is to be recalled that Prime Minister Abiy and his delegation have arrived in Washington, DC, to participate in the U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit.
