Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reaffirms full support of Ethiopia to the people of Sudan
Addis Ababa, October 26, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has reaffirmed full support of Ethiopia to the people of Sudan at this time of need.
Saying that the government of Ethiopia is closely following the recent situation in Sudan, the Prime Minister said brotherly peoples of the two countries have owners of the Great Civilization of the River Nile and share common destiny in many aspects.
The Premier recalled that Ethiopia in partnership with the African Union has played a constructive role in bridging differences between the military and civil powers in Sudan and bringing the constitutional document for the transitional period in the country pledging continued support from his government.
He called on all parties to negotiate and give peace a chance based on the Juba Agreement in order to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
Abiy expressed confidence that the Sudanese people have the wisdom to address their internal circumstances without any external interference. The Prime Minister further called on external powers to stop meddling in internal affairs of the region.
