Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed meets his Singaporean counterpart

Addis Ababa, June 5, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. The two leaders discussed ways of enhance bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Singapore.

“Thank you to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong for the warm reception today at the Istana. I also take this opportunity to congratulate him for recently assuming office,” Prime Minister Abiy said.

“Our two nations have a lot to learn from each other and we have agreed with Prime Minister Wong to enhance our people to people ties; capacity development; civil service cooperation; technology; advanced manufacturing and tourism development,” the Premier added. “I look forward to building on this partnership,” he affirmed.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also met with Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam today at the Istana, where they exchanged views on political, economic, and social issues.

The two have also agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral relations and explore new areas of cooperation between Ethiopia and Singapore.
