Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed extends greetings on Eid al-Fitr

Addis Ababa, April 9, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his greetings to all Muslims on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The month of Ramadan is the most anticipated month for the entire Muslim community. Ramadan is a month of mercy and blessing in which the Muslim community gets closer to God in fasting and Ibadah, the Prime Minister underscored.

In his Eid al-Fitr message, the Prime Minister noted that “This year’s Ramadan was a month in which we helped the poor and the needy and supported one another. Ethiopians with diverse religious backgrounds steadfastly demonstrated their unity,” adding: “These are the signs of illumination for our way. “They remind us that we can overcome the challenges we face together.”

“We must maintain values we have achieved in the month of March to the next chapter till we ensure our prosperity. Peace, forgiveness, and love are our values. Synergy and forgiveness is our fundamental principle.  Mending historical fractures and preserving our multinational unity is our vision. Synergy is our path and prosperity our destination. These values are what we apply to overcome our challenges during the reform and the path to our next destination which is the holistic prosperity of Ethiopia,” the Prime Minister noted.
