Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed extends Christmas greetings
Addis Ababa, January 6, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has extended his Ethiopian Christmas (Genna) greetings wishing a joyful festival to the faithful.
“The Nativity of Jesus Christ is considered the beginning of reconciliation. Before the birth of Jesus Christ, a great wall of conflict was erected between the creator and the creature, heaven and earth, God and man, and it lasted for many centuries. Nativity of Jesus manifests the beginning of fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation to mankind; “I will deliver you born from your grandchild”. Christmas is the day reconciliation between mankind and God starts,” the Premier said.
“Let us come to the new age, to the new light. Let’s come to the new personality and the new chapter. Making a new shared history helps us to reach a consensus on our past. When we start a new path, we will not quarrel on what we have left behind,” he said.

“Will we make history like the Biblical Magi who came from the yonder and met the Messiah, or will we take up a sword against innocents to destroy history like Herod?, Do we herald the good news like the saint angels for a new history, or turn down the opportunity presented to us with disdain like the then Jewish elites,”
“Finding the right answers to these questions will offer Ethiopia a good reason to celebrate the Nativity of our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, striding on the new path,” the Premier said in his Christmas message.
