Pretoria peace agreement a clear statement of Africa is never short of wisdom: MFA Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, November 9, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA Ethiopia) stated that the international community is showing its partnership to provide the necessary support for the success of the Pretoria peace agreement.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Meles Alem, in his weekly statement, stated that Ethiopia’s firm stance on ‘African solutions for African problems’ has brought significant results.

He pointed out that the Pretoria Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) is a clear statement by Africa to the rest of the world that the continent is fully capable of solving its own problems. It also demonstrated that it never lacks ideas and wisdom.

Spokesperson Meles also stated that various countries and international financial organizations have sent messages that they welcome and support the agreement reached by the Ethiopian government and TPLF to end the conflict.

The meeting of the military commanders of the federal government and TPLF forces in Nairobi, Kenya is considered a promising start, the Spokesperson added.

According to Meles, the friends and allies of Ethiopia expressed their willingness to support the efforts to rebuild the areas affected by the conflict, resettle the displaced and return the TPLF militants to a peaceful life.

He urged every Ethiopian at home or abroad to root for peace by supporting the agreement and help the people affected by the conflict.

The Spokesperson further called on the Diaspora, as patriots of peace, to continue providing all-round support to rebuild and rehabilitate the people and areas affected by the conflict.
