President Sahle-Work Zewde bids farewell to outgoing Ambassador of Cuba

Addis Ababa, October 22, 2021 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde has bid farewell to outgoing ambassador of Cuba, Vilma Thomas Ramírez at her office.

Ambassador Vilma Thomas expressed gratitude to the government of Ethiopia for the support she has been provided with during her four year tenure in the country.

Ethiopia and Cuba have been enjoying partnership in various areas of cooperation since they started diplomatic relationship in 1975. Cuban soldiers fought alongside the Ethiopian army in fending off the Somalian invasion led by Siad Barre in 1977.
