President Sahle-Work says Ethiopia aggressively working to enhance woman empowerment

Addis Ababa, March 27, 2021 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work said that Ethiopia is aggressively working to enhance women empowerment at all levels.

Ethiopia has put in place several strategies and programmes tailored for enhancing active participation of women in the social, economic and political spheres.

The president who was in Harari region visited a fistula treatment facility and Enay Abida Crafts Center in Harar town. She also observed activities in Mental Health Rehabilitation Center of Haramaya University.

On the occasion, the president said that Ethiopia is on the right track in terms of enhancing women empowerment in multispectral fields. Inclusive works are being carried out in schools so as to realize conducive learning-teaching environment for female students, she underlined.

During her stay in Harari town, the president also inaugurated a rehabilitation and reintegration center that had been set up by the regional Children, Youths and Women Bureau.
