President Sahle-Work recognized for outstanding contribution to women empowerment
Addis Ababa, August 4, 2021 (FBC) – The Ministry of Women, Family and Children of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has presented an award to President Sahle-Work Zewde on the occasion of the annual Pan African Women’s Day.
The Ministry recognized outstanding African women who have made significant contributions to their country and their continent.
President Sahle-Work Zewde was recognized for her outstanding contribution to the empowerment of women in various fields at home, Africa and internationally, as well as to increase women’s participation in various economic, social and political fields.
Ethiopian Ambassador to the DRC Woinshet Tadesse received the award, according to office of the President.
Other awardees included former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan as well as other notable Congolese citizens.
