President Sahle-Work receives new IFAD country representative

Addis Ababa, August 12, 2021 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde today met with Mawira Chitima, the new Country Representative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The new representative presented the large-scale projects undertaken by the organization in Ethiopia to strengthen and modernize the agriculture sector.

According to Office of the President, IFAD has so far invested over $700 million and has plans for future projects to be implemented in close cooperation with the government of Ethiopia.

The President emphasized the importance of the agriculture sector for Ethiopia and called on IFAD to continue to support the development goals set by the government.
