President Sahle-Work meets with members of National Dialogue Commission

Addis Ababa, July 16, 2022 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde met today with the members of the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission.

Commissioner, Professor Mesfin Araya made a presentation of the four months activities of the Commission as well as its future plans.

The President said she has seen for herself that national dialogue is an important tool for peacebuilding. She stressed that the whole process should be credible, inclusive, transparent and genuine.

She also emphasized that undertaking a National Dialogue is not just for ticking the box. Additionally, she said “What Ethiopia needs is a new social contract”. She presented her best wishes to the Commission.
