President Sahle-Work calls for support for female university students

Addis Ababa, December 21, 2020 (FBC) -President Sahle-Work Zewde has called for multifaceted support for female university students to enable them complete higher education and join the work force.

The President made the remark today at the launching of the Young Women Mentoring Program organized by the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth.

She further highlighted the importance of creating networks and supporting women from all walks of life saying “as women, we must support one another not compete with one another.”

President Sahle-Work has launched a tutoring program in a few universities with the aim of supporting women and preparing them for leadership positions.

She will be launching a complementary mentorship program with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The event was attended by various high level government officials, ambassadors, mentors and selected university students, according to office of the President.
