President Receives CAF And FIFA Officials

Addis Ababa, December 4, 2019 (FBC) – President Sahle-Work Zewde today received leaders of FIFA at the National Palace.

They discussed the 70th FIFA Congress which will be held in Addis Ababa in May 2020.

The Congress will take place at the Union’s headquarters.

South Africa hosted the 60th FIFA Congress in 2010 and Mauritius was the venue in 2013.

The first FIFA Congress was held in Paris in 1904, with just five member associations attending.

The Congress meets every year, where statutes can be amended; where officer bearers are elected and where members can be accepted or expelled.
