President Macron honours heroes of Battle of Adwa with wreath laying ceremony

Addis Ababa, December 21, 2024 (FMC) – President Emmanuel Macron of France was greeted warmly by the Addis Ababa City Administration during his recent visit.

In a touching tribute, he laid a wreath at the base of the Adwa Victory Memorial Statue, commemorating the heroes who lost their lives in the historic Battle of Adwa.

Following the ceremony, President Macron explored the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, which stands as a powerful symbol of Black triumph. The President also took a moment to express his admiration for the remarkable tranformation that Addis Ababa has undergone in recent years.
