Port deal with Somaliland portrays Ethiopia’s success in multilateral diplomacy, Ambassadors say

Addis Ababa, January 16, 2024 (FBC) – Ambassadors approached by FBC stated that the port deal Ethiopia reached with Somaliland clearly portrays nation’s success in multilateral diplomacy.

The Ambassadors said that they are working to clarify the details and prospects of the Memorandum of Understanding to the people and governments of the countries they are assigned to.

Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker, told FBC that the MoU signed with Somaliland depicts the success story in Ethiopia’s diplomatic endeavors.

Ambassador Bizunesh Meseret, Ethiopia’s envoy to India, for her part, highlighted the diplomatic efforts underway to safeguard national interests of the nation at the global level.

She said the agreement has been made in line with the critical importance of sea access in the current world which is undergoing changing dynamics of the global power.

The Ambassadors further stressed the need to strengthen efforts in the multilateral diplomacy sphere towards the realization of the MoU.
