Polls continue in some places as ballot counting concluding in several parts of Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, June 22, 2021 (FBC) – National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) announced that Voters in Sidama and Gambella regions went to the polls a day late on Tuesday as polling station workers in many parts of the country are concluding the ballot counting.
Voters in Sidama region are casting ballots in all constituencies starting from 11:00 AM on Tuesday, the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia announced.
The Board added that since 2:00 PM this afternoon polls are under way in some constituencies of Gambella region where the election was interrupted due to shortage of voting materials yesterday. Voting process will be completed in both regions today, the board stated.
According to NEBE, election has been temporarily delayed in two constituencies of Benshangul Gumuz where election materials properly packed and kept securely.
