Police officer shot dead four people in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, September 12, 2020 (FBC) – A police officer shot dead four members of the same family in Addis Ababa yesterday, according to the Federal Police Commission.
The officer, identified as Melhiku Meki, killed them after he went to his wife’s family to settle a temporary disagreement between him and her.
Melhiku and his wife lived together for two years but a disagreement between them began two-weeks ago.
Following the dispute occurred between him and her family, the officer shot dead his mother-in-law, his wife’s stepfather, her brother-in-law and a maid.
According to Jeylan Abdi, communication affairs director of the Federal Police Commission, the officer was arrested today and will face justice soon.
Jeylan also rejected false social media reports about the incident, stating that “the killing has no political intention.”
