Police arrests terrorist Shene members over planned attack

Addis Ababa, October 20, 2021 (FBC) – Oromia Police stated that it arrested six members of the terrorist group Shene members over alleged terrorist attacks in Oda Bultum Woreda, West Harerge Zone in the region.

Out of the suspects, five are said to have been recruited and trained for a planned attack by their leader named Jafar Mohammed Sani who is also arrested with them, Police said.

Police said the suspects were allegedly plotting to kill innocent civilians and members of security forces.

The suspects were arrested while preparing for the planned terrorist attack through close and coordinated follow up based on information from National Intelligence and Security Service, According to Police.

A Kalashnikov with 50 bullets, 2 pistols, a gun with three magazines and a radio communication device in the hands of the suspects, is indicated.

Police also urged the community to inform it over any suspicious activities so as to safeguard the nation from potential terror acts of the Shene group which officially announced allegiance with its ally TPLF.

It is to be recalled that police recently seized thousands of bullets of Kalashnikovs and snipers bound to the terrorist Shene group.
