Police arrest 24 individuals for plotting to incite communal violence in Gambella region

Addis Ababa, November 5, 2020 (FBC) –The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) has announced the arrest of 24 individuals for plotting to incite communal violence in Gambella regional state.

Among the detainees, include Tsegaye Mebrhatu (Kahsay), Gebremariam Anania, Wastina Teshome (Jal Sena), Abrham Mehari, Colonel Tesfaye (Balestra) and 19 other destructive forces of TPLF and OLF-Shene group.

According to a statement NISS sent to FBC, police arrested them while they had been plotting to incite communal violence after taking mission from the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).

Similarly, 22 individuals were also arrested for planning to incite communal violence in Assosa and Kamashe zones of the Benishangul Gumuz regional state.

Police arrested them, including Yohannes Girmay and Risom Girmay, while they had been planning to make the areas centres of violence after taking mission from Abay Tsehaye, a member of the destructive group of TPLF, the statement indicated.
