Police announces roads to be closed for Sunday’s street running event
Addis Ababa, November 12, 2022 (FBC) – The Addis Ababa Police announced that the security forces have completed the necessary preparations for the street running competition organized by the Ethiopian Coffee Sports Club.
Addis Ababa is set to host a street running event on Sunday 13, November. The starting and ending point of the running event is at Mesqel Square, Police said.
It is to be remembered that similar races in with large numbers of participants in the past ended successfully.
Police has called on the participants of the race to cooperate for police inspection and checking when they enter the running area, realizing that security is a common issue.
The following roads will be closed for vehicles from 11:30 local time at dawn to the end of the race.
Thus, the routes of St. Uriel Church to Mesqel Square, Olympia to Mesqel Square, Agona Cinema to Mesqel Square, Evangelist Building to Gotera, St. Joseph Church to Gotera, Gofa Gabriel to Gofa Roundabout, Sarbet to Gofa Roundabout, and African Union to Bulgaria will all be closed.
From Tobacco Monopol to Paradise Hotel, Mexico Square to Legehar, St. Lideta Church to Legehar, Senga Tera to Legehar, National Theater to Legehar, Harambe Hotel to Mesqel Square, and National Palace to Square highways and roads will also be closed.
The road from Kazanchis Shell to Bambis will be closed to vehicles from 11:30 local time in the morning until the end of the race.
Addis Ababa Police has announced that it is absolutely restricted to park a vehicle on the left or right side of the aforementioned running lines for a long or short time.
