PMO alerts public over currently circulating fake content regarding MOU with Somaliland

Addis Ababa, June 26, 2024 (FBC) – The Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia has issued a public advisory urging caution regarding the proliferation of false content circulating online concerning a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Somaliland.

“The Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia advises the public to be cautious of fake content that is currently circulating online pertaining to an MOU with Somaliland,” the statement emphasized.

In order to clarify any confusion, the PM Office emphasized that all official communications pertaining to local, regional, and international affairs are exclusively disseminated through its authorized channels.

“We strongly urge everyone to remain vigilant against deceptive content that wrongfully utilizes our official logo,” stated the PM Office.

It is known that Ethiopia and Somaliland signed the MOU on January 1, 2024, which enables Ethiopia gain access to the see port.
