PM Petr Fiala pledges enhanced military aviation cooperation with Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, November 6, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala visited the Headquarters of the Ethiopian Air Force at Bishoftu town.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala was accorded warm welcome by the Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, Lt Gen Yilma Merdasa at the Air Force base.

“There is an important cooperation going on between the Czech company Omnipol and the Ethiopian army. We are involved in the refurbishment of L-39 aircrafts, we supply flight simulators and Czech technicians train local personnel here. There is an opportunity to deliver more aircraft of the new generation,” Prime Minister Petr Fiala said, regarding his visit to the Air Force base, pledging that the cooperation in the military aviation sector will expand in the future.
