PM launches construction of Merewa-Somodo-Seka-Simodo-Limu road project

Addis Ababa, December 28, 2019 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed officially launched today the construction of the 94-km Merewa-Somodo-Seka-Simodo-Limu road project in Jima zone, Oromia regional state.

Minister of Transport Dagmawit Moges, Deputy Chief Administrator of Oromia regional state, Shimeles Abdisa, and other senior government officials attended the launching of the project.

The road project, scheduled to be completed within four years, will be built with over 2 billion birr earmarked by the Government of Ethiopia.

Chinese TCG Engineering Group will undertake the construction of the project. White Knight Construction Management is a consultant.

The construction of the road will contribute a lot in attracting investment and tourism to the area, it was noted.

The road will also cut through Jimma zone and three woredas- Mana, Limmu Kosa and Limmu Seka.
