PM expresses condolences over death of former Kenyan President Moi
Addis Ababa, January 4, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed has expressed his condolences over the death of former Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi.
Moi died today at the age of 95.
“I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of former Kenyan President H.E. Daniel arap Moi who passed away today. May his soul Rest In Peace,” said the Prime Minister on Facebook.
Stepped down in 2002, Moi was the country’s second president taking over after the death of Jomo Kenyatta in 1978.
Moi, born on 2 September 1924 into a farming family, was a close ally of Kenyatta in the run-up to Kenyan independence in 1963.
He served as home affairs minister from 1964 and in 1967 he became the country’s vice-president.
