PM commends MoU signed between Oromia and Somalia regions to cooperate in peace, dev’t
Addis Ababa, January 26, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has commended the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Oromia and Somalia regional states to cooperate in peace and development works.
The five-year cooperation agreement was signed by Chief Administrator of Oromia regional state, Shimeles Abdisa and Deputy Chief Administrator of Somali regional state, Mustefe Mohammed.
“Sincere gratitude to the leaders of Oromia and Somali regions for their exemplary work,” the Prime Minister Abiy tweeted.
“We will bring prosperity to all parts of our country through peace and development,” he added.
According to the Prime Minister the implementation of peace and collective development agreements within the internal and administrative boundaries of regions will have a significant impact on the country’s sustainable development.
According the agreement, the two regions will carry out joint pace and development activities in 12 zones and 48 woredas at a cost of 222.7 million birr.
