PM Abiy inaugurates Ethiopian Prosthetic & Orthotic Service center

Addis Ababa, November 5, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) today inaugurated the newly-built center for the Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service, which he gave direction for its formation two years ago.

The center will cater to increasing needs for such products by manufacturing them locally for persons encountering disabilities due to natural conditions and due to accidents, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.

It is stated that the Ethiopian Prosthetic and Orthotic Service will develop, maintain and provide assistive technologies, produce accessible, quality and customer-oriented prosthetic and physical supports and provide other rehabilitation services.
