PM Abiy holds telephone conversation with President of Türkiye Reccep Tayyip Erdogan

Addis Ababa, August 11, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President of Türkiye, Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, held a phone conversation on August 10, 2024, the Office of the Prime Minister confirmed today.

The leaders discussed enhancing bilateral ties, particularly focusing on doubling trade volume. The two also addressed strengthening regional cooperation.

PM Abiy expressed appreciation for President Erdogan’s support in facilitating a resolution to the misunderstanding b/n Ethiopia & Somalia.

He emphasized the importance of providing Ethiopia, a nation of 120mil people, with access to the sea in a mutually agreeable approach.
