PM Abiy emphasizes importance of utilizing opportunities of today for a better tomorrow
Addis Ababa, September 10, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized the importance of utilizing the opportunities of today to secure a better tomorrow for future generations in Ethiopia.
“Yesterday may be gone, but today is drawing to a close, and tomorrow remains untapped. To seize the opportunities of tomorrow, we must work today,” Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized in his message commemorating the “Day of the Future.”
The thirteenth Month of Pagume, which commemorates Ethiopia’s transitional period to a new year, has been observed nationally under a variety of themes. Accordingly, today, September 10, 2024, (Pagume 5 in Ethiopian Calendar) is dedicated to commemorate “Day of the Future”, with a variety of events.
In his message regarding the occasion, PM Abiy highlighted on his social media page that several mega projects and national initiatives currently underway are laying the groundwork for the country’s future, ensuring its prosperity for generations to come. These include mega projects such as the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), cities corridors development works, roads and dams, as well as national initiatives and programs including Dine for Nation, Dine for Generation, institutional capacity building and reform works, Green Legacy, “Made In Ethiopia,” “Bounty of the Basket,” “Digital Ethiopia 2025”, schools feeding, national dialogue, and transitional justice, among others.
According to Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, his government is working tirelessly to ensure a brighter future for Ethiopia. These efforts, he insists, are crucial in shaping the country’s future for generations to come.
The Day is being observed throughout the country with various events and activities.
Note that Ethiopia is set to usher in its 2017 New Year on Wednesday 11th of September 2024.
