PM Abiy commends irrigation based summer wheat cultivation in Afar Region

Addis Ababa, February 9, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has commended irrigation based summer wheat cultivation in Afar Region.

The Premier noted that the irrigation based wheat cultivation in Afar is showing great potential for import substitution.

“Self reliance is key to our growth, development and prosperity aspirations.”, the Premier said.

Ethiopia is strenuously working on wheat import substitution through scaling up of irrigation based cultivation in low land areas.
