PM Abiy commends acceleration, progress in the construction of the Aware area housing scheme
Addis Ababa, August 6, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that the progress of this year’s low-cost housing scheme for the elderly and economically vulnerable in the Aware area signifies a shift in work culture, combining quality with speed.
Recall that the transformation of the Aware area through Prime Minister’s low-cost housing scheme for the elderly and economically vulnerable has been underway for the past six years. It is indicated that this initiative benefits not only the impoverished but also real estate developers in the area.
This year’s program was launched on 20 May 2024 by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. On that occasion, PM Abiy vowed to ensure the completion of the construction of this new residential complex in September, creating a conducive and green environment, and elevating the standard of living.
Since the launching in May, the construction process for affordable housing for the indigent has continued to accelerate.
Reflecting on the current progress of the construction process, PM Abiy stated this morning through a social media post that “this year’s construction progress exemplifies a shift in work culture, merging quality with speed.”
“Beyond mere housing, the green areas under development aim to foster community and dignified living,” he added.
This ongoing transformation in the Aware area aims to ensure a decent lifestyle for the intended beneficiaries and is a cornerstone of similar efforts undertaken by government actors at both the Federal and Regional levels, the Office of the Prime Minister’s said on Monday.
Social welfare is also said to be a key pillar of Prime Ministerial initiatives, with a focus on the annual renovation and construction of homes for the elderly and economically vulnerable.
