PM Abiy, Brazil’s Lula da Silva plant coffee seedlings at Unity Park
Addis Ababa, February 16, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) and the President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva planted coffee tree seedlings at the Unity Park in Addis Ababa, the Office of the Prime Minister said.
In an official ceremony at the Office of the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received President Lula da Silva, who is currently undertaking a State visit to Ethiopia.
Earlier today, PM Abiy said on social media that he received President Lula da Silva and his delegation at his office.
The discussion of the two leaders, according to the PM Office, aims at bolstering cooperation and nurturing a more profound partnership.
Following a state banquet in honor of the Brazilian president, both PM Abiy and President Lula da Silva planted coffee plants at Unity Park, showcasing their mutual commitment to environmental stewardship and shared appreciation for coffee culture.
It is indicated that Ethiopia and Brazil’s diplomatic relations, spanning over six decades, have commerce at their core.
President da Silva and his delegation arrived in Addis Ababa last night. Earlier this morning, the Brazilian leader also visited the recently inaugurated Adwa Victory Monument and laid wreath at the monument.
