PM Abiy and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta plant tree seedlings at Entoto Park
Addis Ababa, June 8, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta who is on a one day working visit in Ethiopia have planted tree seedlings at Entoto Park, one of greenery and beautification projects of the country.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the Kenyan President have also signed the telecom licensing agreement. Ethiopia has finalized preparations to plant 6 Billion seedlings as part of the national Green Legacy Initiative, the Premier noted.
According to the Premier, 1 Billion seedlings have been prepared for neighboring countries as part of making the tree planting drive regional.
An international consortium led by Safaricom, and comprising of Vodafone and Vodacom, UK’s CDC Group and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation, won 850 Million USD bid to operate in Ethiopia.
